My family and I just returned from a family vacation back to visit her family in WV. On the trip we drove through the night both ways which gave me a long (15 hours each way) time to think. It was during that time, I decided to start a blog.
My reluctance to blog comes from several points: 1. Does the world really need another blog? especially from me? 2. I am naturally opposed to the rules of English, I violate them all the time. 3. My schedule is already crazy most of the time and I wonder if I will keep updating it.
With all those objections firmly in my mind, I still feel the need to discipline myself to write more. I don't pretend to have started this blog because people are begging to hear my thoughts, but because I feel like it would benefit me.
About the Title: Decorated Guardrails. Before you can blog you at least have to come up with some form of title. The reason I choose this one, is because of how often in Christianity we often celebrate the rules and forget the relationship those rules are meant to improve. As I watch the church change and interact with culture I am burdened to do it right. My next post will give a fuller explanation and insight into those thoughts, but you can at least get the idea.
I pray that this blog will be a challenge to me and an encouragement to all who take the time to stop. Feel free to share your thoughts with me!
